Batam Getaway Mar'12

This March, Brenden and I suddenly decided to go for a short getaway.
Where to? Since we had not went Batam together, so we decided to give it a go~

We bought a 1 day 1 night package tour, so here is the itinerary if you are getting a package tour too,
its pretty much the same, as years ago, I went for the exact same tour too:

Day 1:

-Depart at HarbourFront Ferry Terminal

-Arrive at Batam Ferry Terminal(do not throw the ferry ticket, you will need it when you are coming back, I threw mine, end up we pay for another ticket!!!)

-Board the mini bus arrange by the tour group

-First stop normally is the POLO Ralph Boutique, its alot cheaper compare to Singapore Boutique, till date I'm still unsure whether it is authentic or imitation. But for a normal collar tee, it cost around $80, which is way too high for a imitation piece, so anyone know whether it is real or fake, please share! Anyway, I bought 2 pieces, don't care lah, cos I look really good in it!! haha~~

-Went to the Layer Cake Shop, I suppose they bake real tasty layer cake as I see most of our tour mate makes plenty of order after trying the cakes. Personally I don't fancy layer cake so I did not try any and thus, not sure how it taste like. Also, it comes with different flavour~

- As most of our tour mate is not hungry yet, therefore, the tour guide brought us to a keropok(cracker) shop, selling all kinds of crackers and most of it taste real nice and fresh, price is very reasonable too.

-went to 2 chinese temple

-went to their Factory Outlet, nothing much there~

-went for our lunch at 933 Golden Prawn, food is already arrange by the tour group, we just sit down, wait, and food is served. i would say the food taste normal, just a different experience eating in a kelong, more feel loh~

-if you feel like pampering yourself abit, they sell bird nest there too, I am no expert in bird nest stuff, not sure whether it is good grade or what, but it's the first time I witness the staff separating the bird nest from the bird fur, I din know there is so much work to be done before we enjoy the end product. so I ordered a bowl of bird nest which cost SGD15 to try up. Taste good, not very sweet and they are generous in giving the bird nest.

-After lunch, we are ask to move to a sitting area with shelter next to the restaurant, there is performance prepare by the restaurant. You may want to give it a miss if you are having weak hearts.
The show is about a man peeling off the coconut with his teeth, next he distinguish a burning chacoal with his mouth, lastly he broke a glass and put the glass into his mouth, chew, and shallow. I wonder where how he disgest the glass??? I heard he got to repeat the performance like about 5-10 times per day. So do show him some support by giving some tips to them=)

-went to the outdoor minature park for a walk, nothing much to see

-were brought to the Go Kart Circuit, next to it, is the flying fox station. This is at your own expenses.

-went for a 1hr balinese maasage which were included in the package, you can top up some $$ to extend to a 2 hr massage or scrub.

-shopping a their local malls. I cannot find anything that interest me in the mall, except the food.

-finally,we are back to our hotel~~ We stayed in Pacific Palace Hotel, we are like staying in the cruise that stays on the land. The room is not well decorated but so long it is clean, I'm ok. I just like the idea of staying in a ship-like hotel...

Best Ramen I Ever taste in Singapore

In this post, I would like to recommend the 2 best ramen I ever tried in Singapore.
Of course this is based on my own opinion, maybe others might not like it as much as I do, but the usual long queue outside the 2 ramen restaurants seems to agree with me very much!

Marutama Ra-Men (The Central @ Clarke Quay)
6 Eu Tong Sen Street, #03-90/91 The Central @ Clarke Quay, Singapore
Tel: +65 6534 8090

The chicken broths is super duper tasty, very smooth noodle and the greens enhance the taste to the max! This is by far my favourite ramen and I always travel all the way there just to have a bowl of ramen, but its all worth it! If you still have some space in your stomach, make sure you try the grilled roast pork, simply put, it melts in the mouth~

Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King
1 Tras Link #01-19 Orchid Hotel
Singapore 078867 (Tanjong Pagar MRT Exit A)
Tel: 6636 0855

Very small shop with limited seats, but they serve super tasty ramen!
Ramen comes in 3 different soup, Regular, Black Spicy and Red Spicy, I guess all are as good cos bascially they are using the same broth. Big but thin piece of char siew that is mad tender. And they serve unlimited hard boiled eggs, bean sprout and sesame powder that you grind yourself. Cool huh?

Next time when you are around the area, do remember to drop by and try their ramen, i'm sure it will worth the wait!

14.02.2012

A summary of how me and brenden celebrated our Valentine Day.

Well, flowers is kind of a trademark for Valentine Day.
So how can I not receive it?
Love the flowers and the colour combination.

Had our dinner at Gyu-Kaku @ Holland Village.
Its a Japanese BBQ Restaurant, and they serve crazily tasty food.
We ordered waygu beef, pork and seafood, they all come in small potion, but they really taste fantastic.
If you take beef, the waygu beef is definitely a must try, its super tender and juicy!

Lastly, I receive a very lovely Silver mesh ring from Tiffany & Co.
I find it perfect for everyday look, it matches with most of my usual outfit!
